Our Hellenic Society basketball team has already started their hopeful third year in the University of Manchester mixed Basketball league, after a completely undefeated streak and holding two consecutive 1st place trophies from the past years!

When: October 19th. Sunday. Leaving 0815 (army time!) from Student Union Manchester, and coming back by 1700 (that’s 5pm)
Where: The International Paintball Group Game Zone in Zuluwood, 40 mins from Manchester. www.ipg.uk.net
How much: ONLY £25! And that includes:
-Coach Travel
-Day ticket to the paintball game zone
-Your first 100 bullets!
(that’s a package that would normally cost you £40, since normal day ticket on its own is £25!)

The Hellenic basketball team is getting ready for a third strong year in the University of Manchester Basketball tournament. in 2006-2007 Hellenic I and Hellenic II won 1st and 2nd place in the tournament, and last year Hellenic I went on to win 1st place yet again, completely undefeated in any of our games!
The try-outs for this year’s teams will take place in Sugden Sports Centre (check our Map on the sidebar), this Thursday 2/10, from 7 till 8pm. Ask reception for directions.
Sports matches will be about once a week, and the two Hellenic teams will compete against teams from other national societies, halls and faculties for the coveted trophy.

It’s been a very succesful year for our Basketball teams! Co ngratulations to all our players!
Our rookie team Hellenic II has finished 8th in the final rankings, while the veteran team Hellenic I has soared through undefeated (for 2nd consecutive year) to the Great Final game versus Lithuania.
The Big Final will take place tomorrow-Thursday 17th april, at 8pm in Sugden Sports Centre! You’re all encouraged to come support our team in what will very likely be the second year in a row we take home the Winner’s cup! Sugden Sports Centre is on Grosvenor street, at the end of Upper Brook Street (see Map on the right hand sidebar for details)
