This monday November 24, 9.30pm- 00.30am a selection of greek rock and entexno will be being played with Elias Eliades at Bouzouki by Night, Princess Street, this is definately something not to miss if you like greek rock and entexno music!!!!

KARAOKE & PARTY

This Saturday 22/11/08 12-4am BOUZOUKI by NIght, Princess Street there will a be a karaoke competition with the chance of winning one of our prizes.  Come along and TRY and sing maybe your favourite song and you could win.  You DONT have to be able to sing because we can’t really!!!  After the karaoke there will be a Party with the latest greek and english music for you to party till the end.  All this is just for £3.  Hope to see you this Saturday.

Greek Dance Lessons Change of Time!

A quick note to say we’ve unfortunately had to change the time and date of the Greek Dance lessons this weekend.

They will now take place on SATURDAY November 1st, 3-5pm, still in room MR1 of the Students Union on Oxford road, 2nd floor.

Bath & Stonehenge Weekend Trip 21-23 November!

The Hellenic Society is pleased to announce our first weekend trip of the 08-09 season to BATH & STONEHENGE!

We’ve booked a coach and 49 beds in the quite famous YMCA hostel in Bath for the weekend of 21st to 23rd of November. The coach leaves Manchester 5pm on Friday afternoon, arrives in Bath, where we stay for 2 nights in the YMCA, and leave Sunday noon to visit the mysterious must-see attraction Stonehenge, and then head back home.

Discover Bath’s heritage at the world famous Roman Baths, bathe in Britain’s only natural thermal waters at Thermae Bath Spa or visit the 15th century Bath Abbey. From art and history, to fashion and Jane Austen, there really is something for everyone. Explore the beautiful countryside surrounding Bath and enjoy walking, cycling, boating or even hot-air ballooning. Take in the view on one of Bath’s glorious golf courses or cheer from the sidelines at Bath Rugby or the racecourse.

The price of the trip includes coach travel, 2 nights accommodation in the hostel and 2 breakfasts. The hostel has two types of rooms: dormitory-style rooms with 10 beds (ideal for big groups of friends), and smaller 2, 3 and 4-bed rooms. All rooms share bathrooms and amenities, but the hostel is very clean and you can check the facilities on their website for yourselves: www.bathymca.co.uk

We’re holding a special promotion for the first week of bookings:
-if you book before Friday November 7th, prices are £70 for dorm beds or £80 for private room beds.

Greek Dance Lessons this Sunday!

The first Greek Dance lessons will start this Sunday November 2nd in room MR1 in the students union on oxford road, at 4pm! If you haven’t signed up already please send an email to hellenic@umsu.manchester.ac.uk to express your interest. The lessons this Sunday will be free.

Our Hellenic Society basketball team has already started their hopeful third year in the University of Manchester mixed Basketball league, after a completely undefeated streak and holding two consecutive 1st place trophies from the past years!
